Tyrolean Trails

Tyrolean Trails DA was approved by council at the last council meeting held on 20th February. What does this mean? The consultation process for the trail layout was back in mid 2021 and DA submitted for public exhibition in February 2024. So let's all refresh our memories. The trail network was designed by a highly regarded trail construction company, and thorough environmental and archaeological assessments were undertaken under the management of the council. Community consultation for the Mill Creek component of the Jindabyne Shared Trail project commenced in mid 2021, with multiple opportunities provided to the community and Jindabyne Trail Stewardship to contribute. Summary of what it includes. A carpark with toilet facilities at the trail hub off Rainbow Drive. Some realignments and refurbishment of the shared trail that extends from the Dam Wall to Rainbow Drive. Making it both safer for users and ensuring a more robust and sustainable trail.. An additional 9km or MTB specific trail. This includes 3 new descending trails from the Tyrolean Trig as well as 2 new descending trails running parallel to Pink Trail. You will get the whole gamut, more flow, more technical, more advanced and more intermediate including a Black airflow section and an adaptive trail. The sadly overlooked two hips will be upgraded and extended. Realignments will occur to several of the XC style trails off the side of the shared trail, some sections will be lost but overall these trails are being extended so that they all link together. This is a council project utilising a portion of the round the lake shared trail state grant. https://www.snowymonaro.nsw.gov.au/Projects-and-works/Jindabyne-Shared-Trail Comments are turned off but we love to hear feedback.
