MSC field observer @artholomew.92 showing an easy shovel shear test at 2060 m on an east aspect today in the NSW Main Range. It is on a weak layer of moist snow ~80 cm down above a crust. Lower elevations yesterday showed better bonding, likely due to more rain during the storm. Some higher, wind-loaded areas may still need time to settle.
