⚠️STORM WARNING

With the storm bringing a late snow dump, this is a reminder to BE PREPARED when traveling outside of the resort areas. 🏎Conditions can change fast—it might be bluebird when you set out, but can turn to a whiteout with gale-force winds by the end. ⛷If you are planning on travelling into the backcountry, we suggest rethinking your trip until after the storm—when you can enjoy the fresh snow on a bluebird day. ❄️ For ALPINE AREAS above 1900 metres: DAMAGING NORTHWESTERLY WINDS averaging 80 to 90 km/h possible above 1900 metres from early Tuesday afternoon, becoming more likely into the evening. Winds may temporarily ease overnight Tuesday, before increasing again Wednesday morning as the winds shift westerly. A reminder If you’re heading into the backcountry: 👉 Register your trip intention here: https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/safety/alpine-safety#tell-somebody 👉 Carry a Personal Locator Beacon (available to rent from the National Parks Office) 👉 Check the weather forecast: https://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/charlotte-pass.shtml 👉 Carry appropriate equipment for conditions Let's hope that this storm brings enough snow for us to enjoy till the end of the season.
