⚙️The team at our Hunter Power Project are reassembling the project’s gas fired turbines from the ground up.

👁️‍🗨️The assembly of about one million parts per turbine is being done with high precision and a fine tolerance of 0.02mm, which is the smallest dimension that the human eye can resolve. The work is being conducted under domes to protect against damage and contamination.

⚙️We also hit a major milestone with the lift and installation of the approximately 100-tonne rotor for Gas Turbine 1, brought in straight from Japan. The rotor and its 1,522 blades fit its casing with perfect clearance to ensure the turbine’s function and efficiency.

👁️Once finished, each turbine will weigh approximately 450 tonnes and spin at 3,000 RPM, or 50 times per second – too fast for the human eye to see!
