FALL LIKELY ACROSS ALPINE NSW
* FIRST SNOWFALL OF 2026 - ALPINE A burst of wintry weather will sweep across New South Wales late this week, bringing a noticeable temperature drop and the first snowfalls of the season to the Alps. Snow is expected to begin falling across the NSW Alps from Thursday night, continuing into Friday. Falls are most likely above around 1200-1400 metres, with lighter snow possible at slightly lower elevations at times. While this won’t be a major snow event, it will mark an early start to the 2026 snow season. Perisher Valley The colder air will be felt well beyond the mountains. In Sydney, maximum temperatures are forecast to drop from around 30°C on Thursday to near 20°C on Friday, with cooler, windy conditions Friday.
