It was a bit damp and windy overnight. The Victorian resorts have seen some showers and the  NSW resorts have had heavy rain which has further damaged the thinning cover. Perisher has received 33mm and Thredbo 22mm.

Today will see early drizzle easing in the north and showers developing in the south. Winds will be strong early and could affect some lifts.

Tomorrow should be mostly fine to start with cloud gradually increasing during the day. Winds will be gusty about the peaks and increasing overnight to over 100km/h about the peaks. Showers will develop Friday night and increase to rain in the early hours of Saturday and continue during the day and ease to showers by the evening. I think this will damage the cover beyond repair, and it's doubtful we will see lifts running Monday, if not Sunday (although Friday Flat seems to still have a decent amount of snow, thanks to their snow factory, and they are the lowest elevation).

Hotham has already announced that Sunday will be their last day of operations. Charlotte Pass will cease lift operations at the end of Saturday. I'm sure we will see the other resorts announce their closing days very soon. 🐸
