Reclaim Kosci

Some folk who walked part of the Cascade Trail yesterday have sent us some news. The Cascade Trail is in the southern section of Kosciuszko National Park, which has re-opened after feral animal control in March. They reported seeing no signs of feral horses, deer or pigs on a section of the trail where, from experience over the last few years, they would have expected to see horse droppings and stallion piles every couple of hundred metres. The trail-side grasses were long and healthy. Though this evidence of the good effects of feral animal control is only anecdotal, it is an encouraging sign.
