Thredbo will build a new 22-foot halfpipe this winter where new ambassador Scotty James will train. IN what is huge news for the freeride community, Thredbo Resort will build a new 22-foot Olympic halfpipe plus continue with their 65-foot Stomping Ground jump to create a world-class training facility for athletes. The biggest name in world snowboarding, Scotty James has been announced as Thredbo’s newest ambassador and will train at the resort during the 2024 season. Having won both silver and bronze Olympic medals, Scotty James is a four-time Winter Olympian, a three-time world champion, a nine-time X Games medallist and served as Australia’s flag bearer at the 2018 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony. As part of his new ambassadorship, Scotty James has personally donated a mini pipe cutter to the community, enabling Thredbo to build the all-new 13ft MOOKi’s Mini Pipe this winter and for many seasons to come.
