Aurora watch
Australians may get the chance to catch a spectacular aurora if they turn their heads skywards tonight. A rare geomagnetic storm has been forecast by meteorologists, set to be strongest and most visible on Tuesday evening. The storm will be most visible across south-east Australia, with people in southern Victoria and Tasmania having the best chance at seeing the rare weather event if conditions are right. Residents in NSW have an outside chance of spying the phenomena if conditions prove favourable; depending on how strong the storm is, it could push up into parts of NSW. Queenslanders, unfortunately, will have to sit this one out.
