🏃 KosciMiler + Kosci100 Race Updates 🏃

The team has been hard at work preparing this years event, and we have a few updates to share with you regarding the KosciMiler and Kosci100. ⏰ KosciMiler Start Time Change ⏰ The KosciMiler will now start at 3:30am on Friday 29 November. There are lots of things our team consider when deciding a race start time, particularly for the KosciMiler. The main implication is the alpine environment that parts of our course cover. For the best experience for the most runners, as well as runner safety, we want our runners to be traversing the alpine highland sections of course (those above 2000masl) during daylight hours. This is where conditions can be most extreme, and are some of the more remote sections of course. Based on course timings, we believe a 3:30am start time will see runners ahead of cut off at the Charlotte Pass Lookout checkpoint before 8:30pm. All on-course cutoffs have been adjusted to account for the new start time, and the overall course cut off at 36 hours is now 3:30pm on Saturday 30 November. 🏃 Course and Checkpoint Changes 🏃 As we’ve been out on course in the last few weeks, we’ve also been able to make a few changes to course and checkpoints that will help improve your experience. All these details can be viewed on the course maps and checkpoint tables on our website. 🔴🟢 KosciMiler + Kosci100: We’ve moved the Guthega Checkpoint from Guthega Burning Log to Guthega Base Camp – a new indoor venue closer to support crew parking (less walking for them!). This checkpoint is now approximately 1km further down the course. 🔴🟢 KosciMiler + Kosci100: We’ve moved the Thredbo checkpoint to the Thredbo Village Green. This is right in the heart of Thredbo town, and will provide a fun and exciting atmosphere for runners. It is approximately 1km further down the course. 🔴 KosciMiler: We’ve reduced the distance on the Schlinks Pass loop, between Guthega Power Station Checkpoints 1 and 2. This keeps you from going out into the remote wilderness during a section most runners will traverse at night, as well as bringing the overall distance down to 161km (not 167km – you’re welcome!) Take the time to have a look at the information over on our website to fully aquaint yourself with all the course details. The 2024 Runner Guide will be released next week, which will also contain the same information in a booklet format for you to download. Until we see you in the Snowy Mountains, keep training hard, enjoy your taper, and all the best for your final weeks prep!
